Uh, wow, well the blog didn't really fare well this year did it? Anyways, it's almost the end of the school year, and you know what that means...time to return books! I'll be sending lists of overdue books to teachers next week, so bring those books back!

Well, it's the first Friday of the new school year, and it's gonna be an exciting one! We've got 30 laptops in the library alone, along with many more spread out across the building. Also new? About 2 TONS of new books...yay! Except that I have to catalog them all...aghhh!
Can't wait to see you in the library, Ms. Straub p.s. - Have fun at camp 7th graders! School gets out in just a few more weeks...are you ready for summer yet? I am! Went on a visit to the new Dexter library building yesterday, and it was very very cool. The teen room looks awesome, and according to my inside contacts there...it's not even done yet! They have a great selection of books there, including lots of new titles, and old favorites. There are also computers in the teen room that are just for you guys...and I didn't try them, but they seemed to be much faster than ours here at school, which is a good thing! Hey all, are you looking for a good mystery? Probably one of the most asked questions I get is, "Where are the mysteries?" It's kind of a bummer, but the books in our library are arranged by the last name of the author - that means there's no one section of mysteries. Instead, you have 2 or 3 options of how to find a good mystery (or fantasy, or realistic fiction, or whatever). I know a lot of 7th & 8th graders have had to write book reviews for the Language Arts classes, and I've even read some of them (people who are so impatient they click Print 5 times, I'm talkin' to you!)...they rock! I just posted some awesome YouTube videos of Laith al Saadi over at Fun Stuff. If you want to see/hear more, head over to Laith's myspace page, k? Welcome to Ms. Straub's media center blog!
