I read the book Sang Spell by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. The book was about a boy who got lost hitchhiking on his way to his aunt’s house in Dallas Texas. But on his way he is mugged and by the morning he was found by Leone a mute women in Canara. Canara in a little town were a lot of spooky stuff happens like houses disappear and reappear. Josh gets stuck in this town and can’t get out. In the town he makes lots of friends and the people there don’t even know how to get out.
I think the author Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, did a very good job writing this book. I liked her details and the ways she described everything. It all made an amazing picture in my mind of what was happening in every moment. Most of the book was clear to me but there were a few foggy spots.
I liked how she described the characters and made you guess if they were bad or good. It really helped me imagine what was happening and what they were doing. I liked how he made the characters names old English too. That was pretty cool! I also liked how he made you guess if the characters were old, young, bad, good, gentle, or rough.
I don’t have very many. I think he could a have used a little more detail. I think that the ending should be a little different and a lot more detailed. Also I think that the ending should be different and not so boring.
I would recommend this book to anyone who was mature enough about sex related stuff. Also who likes when people go to a different world and can’t get out.
